Tariffs from Furniture Movers

Until then, however, you can get a good idea of how much your move will cost by looking at the following price points as well as our pricing policies for moving in New Jersey.

Hourly Rate for Moving

The hourly rate we charge is on a per-person basis. This means you need to multiply the hourly rate listed here by the number of movers you need to complete the job.

• Regular Rate – Monday through Saturday, 8AM-7PM - $30 per hour
• Overtime Rate – Monday through Saturday, 7PM – 8Am - $40 per hour
• Sunday & Holiday Rate - $50 per hour

All moves at the regular rate require at least three hours of time. All moves at the overtime rate require at least three hours of time. All moves at the Sunday & Holiday rate require at least five hours of time.

Calculating Costs for Travel

Driving your belongings from your current location to your new home or office will be charged based on the number of miles being traveled. The rate charged is converted into a number of hours. Here is a simple chart for typical moving distances:

• 3-10 Miles - .5 Hours
• 11-20 Miles – 1 Hour
• 21-30 Miles – 1.5 Hours
• 31-50 Miles – 2.5 Hours

Any distance greater than 100 miles is charged at a rate of .5 hours for every 20 miles.

Accepted Payment Options

Furniture Movers accepts payment via cash, certified check, money order, and credit card. Due to the added expenses of accepting credit cards, those paying with Visa or MasterCard will have a 2% service fee added to their bill. Those paying with America Express or Discover cards will have a 5% service fee added to their bills.

Deposits & Refunds

Scheduling a move requires a 20% down payment, which is based on the estimated costs of your move. This deposit will secure the movers for the dates and times that you have scheduled the move. Because of this, we require at least seven days’ notice for all cancellations in order to receive a refund.

Packing and Unpacking Charges

If you hire us to handle your packing and unpacking, the hourly rate listed above will apply. All packing supplies that are used will be sold at our normal supply rates. If you need packing supplies for you to take care of the packing yourself, we can deliver them right to your home or office for $30 as long as you are within 20 miles of our offices.
